KPM Jawab Kenapa Sekolah Kutip 'Special Fee'

The Star bertarikh 23 Julai 2010 – WHY MUST SCHOOLS COLLECT SPECIAL FEE?




Ministry of Education (MOE) would like to refer to a letter by Parent, from George Town published in THE STAR dated 23 July 2010 on the issue of  –– “Why must schools collect special fee.

Untuk makluman “Parent”, yuran yang dimansuhkan ialah YURAN KHAS iaitu Yuran Khas Sekolah Rendah sebanyak RM 4.50 dan Yuran Khas Sekolah Menengah sebanyak RM 9.00.
Untuk makluman, Bahagian Pengurusan Sekolah Harian (BPSH), KPM telah mengeluarkan Surat pekeliling Ikhtisas Bil.5/2009 berkaitan dengan Bayaran-bayaran Tambahan Persekolahan bertarikh 26 Oktober 2009 kepada semua Pengarah Pelajaran Negeri (JPN) untuk edaran kepada Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah (PPD) dan Sekolah-sekolah bagi memaklumkan jumlah Bayaran Tambahan yang perlu di bayar.
Merujuk kepada persoalan yang ditimbulkan oleh penulis, yuran yang dikenakan oleh pihak sekolah adalah BAYARAN TAMBAHAN Mengikut Sekolah dan Bayaran ini dikenakan oleh semua sekolah seluruh Negara termasuk SMK Tanjong Bunga, Pulau Pinang.
Pihak sekolah telah memanggil para pelajar selepas perhimpunan pagi pada 19 Julai 2010. Pihak sekolah dengan niat baik telah memaklumkan kepada para pelajar (lebih kurang 20 pelajar) yang tidak dapat membayar yuran agar membuat permohonan pengecualian kepada pihak sekolah jika tidak mampu membayar bayaran tambahan.
Kenyataan “Parent” mengenai tiada peruntukan dari kerajaan untuk penyelengaraan dan aktiviti-aktiviti sekolah adalah tidak berasas dan rekaan semata-mata.

My Dear Students, Imagine What Will Happen To Your Brain If You Were On Phone For a Long Period!

Perhaps this is another unseen reason why you, my dear students, are discouraged to bring handphones to school. When you abuse the usage of handphones during lessons in class, you disturb the process of teaching and learning. But worst is the unseen effect that you would suffer in the long run! See the experiment below.
 
An experiment was conducted on a fresh chicken egg.The egg was put in between 2 mobile phones which were connected for 65 minutes between them as shown in the first picture.

A call was initiated between the two mobiles and allowed 65 minutes approximately... 



During the first 15 minutes nothing happened;
25 minutes later the egg started getting hot;
45 minutes later the egg is hot;
65 minutes later the egg is cooked as shown in the second picture.














Conclusion: The immediate radiation of the mobiles has the potential to modify the proteins of the egg. Imagine what it can do with the proteins of your brains when you do long calls.

Please try to reduce long-time calls on mobile phones, use SMS instead.

The best policy is do not make any call  or SMS when there is no urgency or important!

Leave your handphones at home during school hours.

Apabila beliau tiada,
Jangan la kita lupa untuk berdoa kepada guru kita,
Kerana,
Ketika kita belajar beliau la yang selalu berdoa untuk anak2 murid beliau,

Non-Muslim School Clubs Can Proceed - Muhyiddin

 BUKIT JALIL, July 24 — Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today gave his word that decades-old non-Muslim societies in schools could continue to proceed with their activities and would not face closure.
He firmly reiterated that neither the ministry nor the Education Department had ever issued any directive to schools ordering for the dissolution of non-Muslim religious clubs.
“Let me clarify. There is no directive issued by the ministry.
“There was already an old circular from before so the status now is that existing societies whether Hindu, Buddhist clubs, can continue on. Take my word for it,” he told reporters after launching the Village Entrepreneurs Carnival at the Bukit Jalil stadium here.
Muhyiddin was referring to a circular by the Selangor education department issued on December 16, 2000, which stipulated that “any school that already has an established Non-Muslim Religious Club to carry on”.
His deputy Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong had earlier clarified to the media that the circular meant that all societies formed before it was issued could continue with its activities.
Those with the intention to form new clubs however would have to obtain clearance from the department.
Muhyiddin, who is also the deputy prime minister, stressed that ministry had been clear on its stand, adding that he did not want the matter to be rekindled into a new issue.
“I have already checked with the director-general (of education).
“Only the incident happened in Selangor because new societies have to apply to register themselves.
“But the existing ones, the ones already established, can carry on. It does not become a problem,” he said.
Muhyiddin was responding to continuing complaints on the illegal closure of long-established non-Muslim religious clubs following a newspaper report earlier this month highlighting such an incident at a school in Klang.
The report claimed that the school’s administration had ordered for the dissolution of its Kelab Agama Hindu, Kelab Agama Buddha and the Christian Union, which had been in existence since 1969.
When the issue came to light, the school authorities insisted that the decision had been made by the state education department.
When responding to the matter in Parliament recently, Wee told reporters that the department had never issued such a directive and said that the two societies could proceed with their activities.

It is just a mix of water, brown sugar and yeast.



Step 1. Cut a plastic bottle in half, keep both parts. Can be Coca  Cola / Pepsi bottle.



 

  
Step 2. Take the lower portion of the bottle. Dissolve the brown sugar in hot water. Let it cool down to ~70 deg F.



  
Step 3. Add the yeast. Carbon dioxide will form (This will attract the mosquitoes)




Step 4. Cover the bottle with a dark wrap and place the top portion upside down like a funnel. Place it in a corner in your house







Step 5. In 2 weeks you will be surprised by the number of mosquitoes killed.

Semua Pelajar Cemerlang Layak Terima Biasiswa JPA, Kata PM

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 Julai (Bernama) -- Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak berkata semua pelajar yang cemerlang dalam peperiksaan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) layak menerima biasiswa daripada Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA).

Beliau berkata tawaran biasiswa itu melibatkan semua kaum yang ingin meneruskan pengajian tinggi sama ada di dalam atau di luar negara.

"Setiap pelajar tidak kira Melayu, Cina, India, Kadazan dan lain-lain yang mendapat keputusan 9A+ layak mendapat biasiswa JPA sama ada dalam atau luar negara," katanya ketika berucap pada Perhimpunan Agung MIC ke-64 di Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra (PWTC) di sini pada Sabtu.

Beliau berkata dengan peluang yang diberikan ini menunjukkan bahawa kerajaan serius melaksanakan transformasi selaras dengan gagasan 1Malaysia.

"Ini menunjukkan (gagasan) 1Malaysia bukan hanya satu slogan tetapi ia dijadikan amalan di Malaysia," katanya.

Najib berkata sejumlah 2,304 pelajar keturunan India mendaftar untuk mengikuti kursus pengajian masing-masing di universiti-universiti awam negara.

Menurut Perdana Menteri, sejumlah 4,541 pelajar India memohon untuk mengikuti pengajian dan 2,499 pelajar layak.

"Kira-kira 92.9 peratus pelajar India yang layak telah ditawarkan tempat di universiti-universiti awam di negara ini.

"Ini satu manifesto nyata bahawa kami (kerajaan Barisan Nasional) ada di sini untuk membantu anda, bersama-sama membantu masyarakat bergerak ke hadapan. Inilah janji BN untuk mentransformasikan Malaysia menjadi sebuah negara maju dan negara berpendapatan tinggi," kata Najib.

Empat Kriteria Utama Bagi Tawaran Biasiswa JPA - Muhyiddin

KUALA LUMPUR, 7 Julai (Bernama) -- Tawaran biasiswa Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) bagi Program Ijazah Luar Negara (PILN) tahun ini dibuat berdasarkan empat kriteria utama bagi lepasan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

Timbalan Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin berkata kriteria tersebut adalah pencapaian akademik, penglibatan dalam aktiviti ko-kurikulum, sosio ekonomi keluarga pemohon dan prestasi temuduga.

Dalam kenyataan Selasa, katanya, kerajaan menyediakan 1,750 biasiswa JPA untuk program penajaan PILN bagi lepasan SPM 2009 yang memperolehi keputusan cemerlang dalam sembilan mata pelajaran.

MOE - Promotion Procedures Set By Public Service Department (JPA)

Ministry of Education (MOE) refer to an article by Jayaraj KGS, Sitiawan, published in THE STAR newspaper dated 18 June 2010 on the issue of – Senior teachers getting a raw deal.


The practice of promotion from Grade DG44 to Grade DG48 (KUP) Time-Based for ex-non graduate teachers (EX-PPPLD) are still based on the Promotion Procedures for Time-Based (KUP) set by the Public Service Department (JPA) dated October 28, 2002 whereby teachers have to fulfill the criteria of salary scale and duration of service in order to be promoted to DG48 Time-Based (KUP). MOE - School Sejarah and Geografi Folio Follow Curriculum Specifications

Ministry of Education (MOE) is grateful to ‘myl’ comments, published in THE STAR newspaper dated 21 June 2010 on the issue of – Waste of Time : School Sejarah and Geografi folio is totally a waste of money and time. Not all students have computer and printer at home.

The ministry would like to advise ‘myl’ to refer to the curriculum specifications for Geography and History for form three.

Section C of the syllabus for Geography clearly states that students are required to carry out a research within their locality. The research should focus on geographical characteristics related to the themes explored at their level of study or current issues related to geography. The coursework is meant to enhance students’ awareness of their surroundings. The study is a chance for students to apply theoretical knowledge acquired in classroom teaching.

For History students are expected to carry out a small scale study of local history (Kajian Sejarah Tempatan). The aim is for students to gain first-hand knowledge about research. Through the micro study students are required to find, collect, classify access and assess information as well as record historical facts. The folio is an awareness raising activity to help enhance students’ interest in local history.

Before executing the tasks, students are advised to refer to the ‘Buku Panduan Pelaksanaan Kerja Kursus”. The directive to candidates advises students to submit their work either in handwritten or typed form. It is also clearly stated that usage of computer will not influence the final score attained by students.

Ministry of Education (MOE) refer to an article by Calvin Klein, Muar published in THE STAR newspaper dated 10 June 2010 on the issue of – Extra classes a waste of time and resources.
 
Sukcita dimaklumkan bahawa kelas tambahan merupakan satu kreativiti dan inisiatif pihak sekolah sendiri dalam memberikan yang terbaik kepada pelajar. Walaubagaimanapun murid-murid tidak akan dipaksa sekiranya tidak mahu mengikuti kelas tambahan ini. Usaha murni pihak sekolah dan guru adalah hanya untuk membantu demi kejayaan murid di sekolah berkenaan.

MOE - The Items Tested in The Additional Mathematics Kertas 1 SPM 2009: Code 3472/1 Complies With The Curriculum.

The Sun bertarikh 11 Jun 2010 – DISCREPANCIES IN SPM ADD MATHS QUESTIONS




Ministry of Education (MOE) would like to refer to an article by Add Maths Teacher, published in THE SUN newspaper dated 11 June 2010 on the issue of – Discrepancies in SPM Add Maths Questions.

The Examinations Syndicate wishes to clarify that the items tested in the Additional Mathematics Kertas 1 SPM 2009: Code 3472/1 complies with the curriculum and is true to the context in which it is tested.
The Examinations Syndicate would also like to point out that the test instrument in question is set according to a Test Spesification Table (JSU) in use since 2003.The table ensures that all tests set are of similar levels of difficulty. However, in some casesthough the construct is the same, the stimulus and task may differ. 
The ministry assures all candidates that their test papers will be scored fairly and students will be awarded the grades they deserve. 
The ministry thanks Add Maths Teacher for his/her concerns.
